Christopher Lopez (b. 2002), is a multidisciplinary artist with an expertise in storyboarding and painting based in both San Francisco and Los Angeles, originally born and raised in San Francisco and currently residing in Los Angeles. He earned his BFA in Animation from the California College of the Arts in May 2024.

Christopher is passionate about visual storytelling rooted in identity, culture, queerness, and emotional depth. He directed his debut animated short film, Like Water (released February 15, 2024), a deeply personal story exploring queerness, masculinity, and spirituality through the lens of a 19-year-old protagonist. He is currently developing his second animated short, For My Brother, which reflects his Peruvian and Nicaraguan heritage and the grief of losing his younger brother.

In addition to animation, Christopher is a practicing painter. His current “Mirror Series” uses surrealistic themes and mirrored imagery to explore race, culture, and self-perception. He is also creating an “Emotions” series, featuring original cartoonish humanoid character called Beingklings that serves as a vessel for exploring psychology, vulnerability, and wisdom.

At the heart of Christopher’s work is a dedication to storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices. He is always eager to collaborate, challenge conventions, and keep meaningful visual narratives alive.
